Hi Everyone!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my site.  My hope is to pass on useful information that I have found that will benefit others as well.

Let me start by saying that I have not always been into homesteading.  In fact,  like a lot of people, I didn’t really know what it was until the last several years.

I think there is something about turning 40 that makes us realize how many things we thought we new, but really didn’t.  Then we also realize how much our grand parents and great grandparents knew, and took with them when they passed on.  Now I long to sit with my great grampa and pick his brain on how to survive when you have none of the modern technology we have today.

Sometimes I feel that life was simpler then.  And I do believe that people worked harder, but they had so much more to show for it.

I am fortunate to have a mother that has always been a ‘do-it-yourselfer’ and instilled that into me.  She always had a passion for eating healthy, and learning about how to take care of ourselves, as opposed to letting someone else take care of us.  Of course, when I was younger, I had no appreciation for that, but I am eternally grateful now for all the things that I take for granted that I know she has taught me.

There is something to be said about keeping your values, respecting parents and elders, learning from those who came before us, and using that knowledge to create a better life for ourselves and our families.  My hope is to pass on some of that wealth of knowledge, skills, and insight from days gone past.
