This is a short video about the rainwater collection or rain harvesting system that I invented and installed behind our backyard shed. My rain collection system uses twin 330 gallon tanks for a 660 gallon capacity & a manifold to fill them both from the bottom. It’s awesome. Please feel free to leave questions and/or comments if you have any – I’d love to have some feedback.

www.angus-horticulture.co.uk There is a vital key to healthy abundant food in the simple act of adding rock dust from a volcanic rock to the soil we grow our food in. The actual process is complex, increasing bacteria in the soil, and availability of certain minerals which do become depleted over time. Pioneering research is going on in the UK. As we are all mineral deficient and many diseases are routinely cured by nutrition alone remineralising the soil should be top of the agenda of an uncontrolled media. Here is a piece about some true heros of our times. Gardeners explore the above website if you are near Brighton, Rock Dust will soon be available from Anahata Health Clinic, call 01273 698697
Raising chickens was not exactly what I had in mind when I aquired 6 hens on my little rural property. I just wanted them for the fresh chicken eggs. But then when another friend wanted a home for his silky bantam rooster, of course, soft hearted me took it it. Then the inevitable happened. You guessed it – baby chickens! I can’t tell you how many baby chickens I’ve rescued and hand raised until they were big enough to fend for themselves in the chicken coop! Some have become pet chickens. Some sadly, have not made it. The three baby chickens in this clip are being taught by their ‘mother’ how to fend for themselves. I let them out of the coop on weekends when I’m home and they love scratching around in the small paddock which is part of my property.
This is an Arduino (clone) powered automatic chicken coop door opener that has a couple of gravity-actuated latches that should keep out racoons, etc.. Blog-site for this project: slinkyx.blogspot.com Also, great minds think alike: www.fabiens.org
